Walsh College partnered as the only education provider for cybersecurity training for the global automotive sector in Winter 2022. During the early professional development sessions, it became evident that attendees had unique preferences and approaches to learning. Walsh College recognizes the importance of adapting to student-requested approaches for maximum engagement and knowledge retention and has developed the certificate accordingly.
The initiative comes in response to the United Nations’ directives (UN R155 and R156 standards), mandating cybersecurity training for all employees in automotive companies to facilitate international car sales. Walsh’s Automotive Cybersecurity Certificate equips individuals with the necessary training, aligning with industry requirements and offering the added benefit of academic credit.
The cybersecurity requirements are set to address interest from employees in the automotive industry seeking documented academic training. Because of this, Walsh College’s response is a four-course graduate certificate designed to meet the necessary requirements. The college has also partnered with GRIMM to incorporate industry-specific hands-on training which also fulfills advanced standing requirements.
