What happens when your education is disrupted by an unexpected injury, illness, or other serious life event? Depending on the timing of the withdrawal, it may not be possible to receive a refund for all tuition and fees.
That’s why Walsh College has partnered with GradGuard to provide our students with tuition insurance featuring special plans and rates not available to the general public. GradGuard Tuition Insurance strengthens and broadens the scope of our existing refund policy, and can help students and parents avoid a financial loss due to an unexpected withdrawal from courses. GradGuard is the #1 provider of insurance to students in the nation.
While purchasing insurance is optional, plans are available at a minimal cost and can provide up to 100% reimbursement for tuition, room, board, and other fees for covered situations such as:
- Serious illness or injury
- Mental health conditions
- Chronic illness
- Death of a tuition payer
- Loss of employment for tuition payer
Plans must be purchased before the first day of class of each term.

Will my financial aid cover the cost of GradGuard?
Not directly, since fees are paid directly to GradGuard. However, students who borrowed enough student loans to receive a student refund could reimburse themselves for the cost of GradGuard. Student refunds are typically processed in the fourth week of the semester. Please email finaid@walshcollege.edu if you would like more details.
Does Walsh College receive any financial incentives from GradGuard by offering this program?
No. This is a benefit we offer to students to help them finish their degrees. Walsh does not receive any kickbacks or percentages of revenue for offering this program to students.
