Learning Communities

Walsh College is excited to offer on-campus Learning Communities to accompany our online courses. The Learning Communities are interactive, in-person sessions designed to offer online students on-campus opportunities to broaden their learning, build connections with peers and faculty, and receive extra academic support.

During these sessions, students will have dedicated time on campus in a supportive environment, connected with classmates and faculty, and participate in lectures and guided activities that strengthen their understanding of emerging business and technology topics. While students will continue to complete their regular coursework online through Moodle and direct specific, course-related questions to their course instructors, the Community Sessions offer the added benefit of in-person enrichment, collaboration, and networking.

Sessions

Sessions run during the first 10 weeks of each term, and students are welcome to attend as many sessions as they would like.

Two session options are available:

School of Technology

When: Wednesdays from 6:00 – 8:30pm

Where: Cyber Lab (Room 122)

School of Business

When: Thursdays from 6:00 – 8:30pm

Where: Finance Lab (Room 109)

Whether you are looking to stay motivated, get extra help, or expand your professional network, the Learning Community is a great way to enrich your Walsh College experience. For more information, contact your Academic Advisor — or simply drop in and join us!

Note: While International and Veteran students may enroll in the Learning Community VHL courses offered, any other interested students do not need to register for a specific Learning Community Section (VHL modality); they can simply attend the session that works best for their schedule.
