As a part of our commitment to providing comprehensive education to our students, we have partnered with Becker Professional Education to offer their highly acclaimed CPA prep course at a discounted rate of $1,000 off. This course covers the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) and Auditing and Attestation (AUD) sections of the exam and has helped many of our accounting majors pass on their first attempt. From an associate degree to becoming a certified CPA, Walsh College provides everything you need. Contact our Accounting Department for further details and let us help you ace the CPA exam!

The New CPA Exam

Effective from January 2024, a new “Core + Disciplines” model will be introduced for the CPA exam. This updated approach will require all candidates to take three sections of core exams, which will cover a broad range of topics such as Accounting and Data Analysis, Auditing and Information Systems, and Tax. Candidates will have the option to choose from one of the three disciplines: Business Analysis and Reporting, Information Systems and Controls, or Tax Compliance and Planning for the fourth section, which will showcase their in-depth knowledge and proficiency. Furthermore, all sections of the exam will put a greater emphasis on data analytics and technology. Passing any of the disciplines will lead to full CPA licensure, and the rights and privileges that come with it, regardless of the chosen discipline. It’s important to note that the selected discipline does not limit one’s practice area as a CPA. If you’re interested, you can get fully prepared for the new CPA exam, and choose from any of the three disciplines with the help of Walsh College’s accounting programs. For more information, kindly reach out to the Accounting Department.
