A Holiday Message from President Siegle
Dear Walsh College Community,
As we near the close of 2024, it is the perfect time to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared together this year. It has been a time of change, growth, achievement, and inspiring moments. We’ve made great strides in advancing our mission to serve our students, empower our alumni, and engage with our broader community.
This year, we’ve seen remarkable progress in several areas speaking to the strength and vitality of our college. Our #1 Forbes-ranked doctoral program continues to shine, attracting talented individuals who are poised to lead in their fields.
Our incredible degrees in business and technology, especially our new programs in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and our master’s in accounting have seen exciting growth. Together, we are building a robust academic environment preparing students to excel in an ever-changing world.
An exciting highlight of 2024 was the launch of our Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), a dynamic space designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and the entrepreneurial spirit within our community. Through our partnership with the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM), we’ve been able to support so many Michigan businesses—many of them owned and operated by our very own alumni. These collaborations enrich our students’ educational experiences and empower us to make a real difference in our local communities.
In every corner of our college, we’ve seen a tremendous sense of commitment. Our faculty, staff, and students have all leaned in, supported one another, and embraced the opportunities of this year and now the year ahead. Whether through engaging dynamic classroom discussions, mentoring students, or providing support and encouragement, you’ve helped make Walsh College a place where people can truly grow and thrive. Thank you all for your work and your dedication this past 2024 year and beyond!
As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of higher education, especially in the face of AI advancements and shifting workforce roles, the value of a Walsh College education has never been clearer. In a world of rapid change, our mission to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values to succeed remains at the core of everything we do.
So, as we look ahead to 2025, let’s take a moment to reflect on our own goals and aspirations. This is such a magical time of year, and one in which we can reflect upon our unique talents and how we can have them shine even more in the world in the service of others.
On behalf of the entire leadership team and our Board of Trustees at Walsh College, we wish our students, alumni, faculty, staff, community partners, and Walsh College supporters a very happy holiday season filled with joy, rest, and time with loved ones.
