Students Attend Business Professionals of America Regional
Leadership Conference at Walsh College
High school students from local Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapters attended their 2023 BPA Regional Leadership Conference at Walsh College in Troy, Michigan on Friday January 13, 2023.
262 high school students, led by 19 teachers, from high schools in Macomb and Oakland counties came together to compete and showcase their skills in this year’s BPA regional conference. The five main areas include Business Administration, Finance, Health Administration, Marketing and Information Technology competitions.
By getting involved in organizations like the BPA early in their educational journey, students set themselves on a pathway to successful futures. They gain valuable skills and experience while networking with other business minded young adults and industry professionals. Walsh College is proud to play a part in bringing this type of real-world experience to these students and helping them prepare to be the future leaders they will become.
The apex of all the hard work is the national conference which will bring together an estimated six thousand delegates from across the country to vie for top honors in business, finance, technology, marketing and health administration skills competitions; attend leadership and professional development workshops; receive awards for community service activities and elect BPA’s 2022–2023 national student leadership team.
“For students and chapter advisors attending the National Leadership Conference, the event is the culmination of a year’s work,” said Dr. Brenda Jacobsen, Chair of BPA’s National Board of Trustees. “We applaud these BPA members for the energy they have devoted to advancing to nationals in competitive events, sharpening their career skills and contributing to community betterment through service initiatives.”
