Mr. Paul Glantz is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Emagine Entertainment, Inc., which operates 27 entertainment venues in Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois.
Paul’s career journey leading up to his time at Emagine is long and distinguished. After graduating from Wayne State University, he began his career as a commercial loan analyst with Comerica Bank in Detroit. Upon learning that he had passed the CPA exam at his first sitting, Paul joined the tax practice area of Ernst and Young. He then went on to work for Pulte Homes, Inc. as its Corporate Risk Manager and Assistant Treasurer, and then became the President of First Line Insurance Services, one of its wholly owned subsidiaries.
Paul then went on to serve as Vice President of Finance and Administration for Proctor Financial, Inc., a leading provider of specialized insurance services to mortgage servicers nationwide, from 1996 through 2007. In this role, he helped drive initiatives that grew Proctor Financial and affiliates from a value of less than $1 million to over $50 million. He then served as Proctor’s President from 2007 until 2018.
While concurrently employed by Proctor, Paul raised over $150 million in capital to expand his “avocation,” and in working with his leadership team, grew Emagine from one screen with 265 seats into the ninth largest theater operator in North America. Paul is considered an expert in cinematic experience and has been quoted in leading publications such as the Film Journal International, The International Herald Tribune and The New York Times. Paul and his teammates’ guiding principle is to treat every Emagine guest the way they would want to be treated, reflecting the dedication to excellence that has become the hallmark of an Emagine moviegoing experience.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with high distinction from Wayne State University and a Master of Science degree in taxation from Walsh College. He has been recognized by both his alma maters, Walsh College and Wayne State, with the Distinguished Alumnus Award, and by Wayne State’s Irvin D. Reid Honors College with the first ever “Pillar Award.”
Paul’s board service, community contributions and engagement are extensive. Paul is an active and engaged member of the community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce as well as on the Board of Directors for MICPA. In addition, Paul serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Theatre Owners. Paul previously served as a member of both the Wayne State University Business School Board of Visitors and Wayne State’s Foundation Board. He has served as Treasurer of the Detroit Chapter of Variety International, where he earned the 2007 Presidential Citation Award by the Detroit Chapter Variety International, The Children’s Charity, in recognition of his community contributions and service.
Walsh and Emagine Entertainment enjoy a unique relationship, being co-located on the Walsh College Troy campus. Paul has been and continues to be a strong supporter of Walsh College, recently serving as a “celebrity” judge at the 2024 Business Professionals Association event on Walsh College’s campus and keynoting the 2024 Global Student Entrepreneur Award event for EO-Detroit.
On his upcoming recognition, Paul commented, “I am deeply honored to be receiving an Honorary Doctor of Laws from my beloved alma mater, Walsh College. To be among those who have previously received such recognition is truly humbling.”
