Walsh Named One of Most Transfer-Friendly Schools in U.S.
Walsh was named to the 2021 Transfer Honor Roll by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) for the second year in a row, a distinction recognizing 150 colleges and universities nationwide committed to providing innovative pathways, resources, and support for community college transfer students.
Schools were selected based on the Transfer Friendliness Rating in PTK Connect, an online tool designed for students to assess admission and recruitment practices, attendance costs, and campus life. Schools with ratings in the top 25 percent are named to the Transfer Honor Roll.
PTK recognizes the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and is made up of more than 3.5 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 11 nations.
“Walsh has partnered with community colleges for more than 50 years and we’ve built a reputation for providing a smooth and supportive transfer process for students. We’re proud to be part of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s Transfer Honor Roll for the second year in a row,” said Karen Mahaffy, Executive Director, Admissions and Enrollment.
Walsh accepts up to 91 transfer credits and a student who starts at community college and transfers to Walsh to finish a bachelor’s degree can save between $30,000-60,000 over traditional four-year institutions. Transfer students have many scholarship opportunities, including several valued up to $10,000 and a limited number of full tuition scholarships. During the 2019-2020 academic year, undergraduate students received $543,613 in scholarships.
