CFA Institute Affiliate

The MSF is a CFA Institute-affiliated program. Curriculum is aligned with the most current practice of investment management and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) learning objectives are woven throughout the program. CFA is a globally-recognized certification and considered the “gold standard” in the finance and investment fields.

MBA/MSF Dual Degree

MSF program applicants must:

  • Possess an undergraduate degree or higher from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and U.S. Department of Education (USDE), www.chea.org. Credits completed outside of the United States must be evaluated by an agency that is a member of NACES (www.naces.org).
  • Have cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.750 or better on a 4.000 scale. (Applicants with a GPA of 2.000 to 2.749 will be admitted provisionally.)
  • No GMAT or GRE required.

Learning Outcomes

Through the MSF at Walsh, you will understand the complex principles at work in business finance. You’ll be ready to lead small businesses and large corporations with strategies to grow operations on a global scale. Upon completion of the MSF, you will be equipped to:

  • Strategize for business expansion.
  • Manage risks, assets, and liabilities effectively.
  • Optimize performance for businesses (Financial Management concentration).
  • Construct portfolios to meet client goals (Financial Services concentration).
  • Analyze a business’s financial position and plan for the future.
