The Master of Science in Management (MSM) develops skill sets and behaviors to enable you to become a more effective leader and advance your career. Learning methodology consisting of application, self-reflection, and simulation based on modern management and leadership theories provide the knowledge and skills to help you make an immediate impact in business.

The MSM offers concentrations in Human Resource Management, Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship, Strategic Leadership, and General Management.

SHRM Curriculum Alignment

The Master of Science in Management Human Resource Concentration is aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) curriculum requirements. MSM-HR concentration students benefit from our unique course design which focuses extensively on the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge (BASK). This focus prepares our students for the SHRM certification exam. Candidates for the SHRM-CP certification are not required to hold an HR title and do not need previous HR experience to apply to take the exam. However, a degree from an Academically Aligned program, such as our Master of Science in Management (MSM), is recommended.

Master of Science in Management Courses

Management coursework focuses on building and developing organizational structure for businesses to operate with health and success. Management helps you hone the skills necessary for leading organizations and building capacities for organizational learning and development. Designing and Leading Competitive Organizations examines the strategic decisions necessary to creating an organization’s brand for a competitive advantage. You’ll learn how to position an organization in local, national, and global environments to achieve business goals. Walsh offers four 11-week courses and year-round registration so you can start your program anytime and see the end goal sooner.

If you have a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, you will receive advanced standing credit for MGT 555, Global Human Resource Management.
