Event Summary:

The summit attracts more than 150 HR professionals annually.  Structured for anyone whose professional HR role includes benefits, hiring, compensation, and personnel management.  The summit provides important continuing education and training for HR professionals.

The conference is approved for Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) continuing education (CE) credits.  Full credit only, no partial credit.  Attendance is based on registration check-in and evaluation completion.

Charlie Wollborg, Chief Troublemaker at Curve Detroit
Charlie is a purveyor of attention. He helps growing brands stand out from the clutter. He opened the doors at Curve, a Marketing Strategy & Creative Design firm, after being thrown out of several well-respected ad agencies. As a marketing strategist and creative director, he has delivered blue-sky ideas and bottom-line results for blue-chip national clients and budding challenger brands from Bose to Blue Cross to Boyne Resorts.

Charlie is your idea guy. No one does a better job with big picture concepts designed to launch brands, make a splash and demand attention. He continually investigates what’s now, what’s new and what’s next in marketing, as well as how it can benefit your brand. His campaigns have been recognized by the Creative Directors Council for creativity and the Direct Marketing Association for effectiveness.

Charlie is the co-founder of Moka Boka, a storytelling startup delivering one-of-a-kind stories and adventures to kids. Along with a handful of cool friends, he produces the TEDxDetroit conference which attracts thousands of attendees from around the Great Lakes each year.

When he’s not building brands, you’ll find Charlie inspiring, educating and entertaining business audiences with his lively keynote presentations on marketing, innovation and motivation. He was named the second best PowerPoint Karaoke presenter in the world. One day, he hopes to place second in a competition people have actually heard of Charlie is happily married to his unhappily married wife, Elena. They have two young sons with wild imaginations and boundless energy and one lazy cat.

Anne-Marie Welch, Labor and Employment Attorney, Clark Hill, PLC
Anne-Marie Welch defends employers in lawsuits and administrative proceedings against wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and related statutory and tort claims. Anne-Marie prosecutes and defends against breaches of non-competition, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements. To prevent lawsuits and promote positive workplaces, she routinely conducts internal audits and advises management regarding labor and employment law compliance and best practices. Anne-Marie serves as a corporate trainer and independent investigator for private and public sector employers in the automotive, manufacturing, nonprofit, and cannabis industries.

Lee Meadows
Lee E. Meadows, is an adjunct Professor of Management at Walsh College and a Consultant with over 30 years of experience working in, consulting for, writing about and presenting on Human Resource issues. He has a strong background in Human Resources and is on the forefront of identifying trends that will impact the profession.

As a Human Resource professional, his practical experiences include having worked at Michigan State University, General Motors, the Kellogg Foundation, EDS/A.T. Kearney, Consulting Services, and Con-Way Transportation Services.

His consulting experiences include having worked with, the City of Detroit, the Detroit Medical Center, Flagstar Bank, BOSCH international, The ORLANS Group, The Neighborhood Service Organization, OHM Advisors, Chrysler, the Ford Assembly Plant in Atlanta, Honor Community Health, Kawasaki Robotics, and several others.

He is currently the President of the State of Michigan Chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources.

Co-founder and co-leader of the Walsh College Annual Human Resources Summit, HR Analytics Day, HR Leaders on Leaders Conference, HR Unite Conference and is the President of the State of Michigan Chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR).

He has presented sessions at Michigan HR Day, MISHRM, HR Unite, The Minnesota Chapter of SHRM conference, and the Detroit Administrative HR Day.

He publishes monthly articles on his LinkedIn page and remains active in designing, developing, and delivering leadership DE&I and HR curriculums for both profit and non-profit organizations.
