A Thanksgiving Message from President Siegle
Dear Campus Community,
Wow, it’s hard to believe the end of November is upon us, and soon the end of this 2024 calendar year!
As we approach Thanksgiving, we want to take a moment to pause and reflect on the immense dedication, compassion, and resilience that define our campus community. Thanksgiving is a time to express gratitude—not only for what we have, but for the people in our lives and the collective work we do together to make Walsh College the extraordinary higher education institution that it is today.
From our first session, Preparation for Executive Responsibilities, held on September 18, 1922, on the 6th floor of the Detroit Opera House, to our evolution to Walsh Institute, and then our growth into Walsh College, we have built a college to serve working professionals seeking to advance their careers and enhance their lives.
This year, all of you have worked to make our campus a space where learning, growth, and innovation thrive. Whether in classrooms- virtual or on ground, our high-tech labs, office and collaboration spaces, it’s been great to witness the moments where we come together to support each other, working collaboratively within and across your departments, and working to deliver on our commitment to our students and alumni every day.
To our Students: You inspire us daily with your curiosity, passion, and perseverance. The challenges you face are real, and so is your ability to rise to them, creating an environment where creativity and inquiry are boundless.
To our Alumni: Thank you for choosing Walsh College and trusting us with your education. Our mission is fully realized as our alumni are living it in the world and making a positive impact across the globe. Thank you for representing us so well and for all you do to support your alma mater.
To our Faculty and Staff: Your dedication and contributions are noticed and appreciated. We hear from students weekly the difference you make in their learning and their lives. You nurture, guide, and empower them every day, and the impact you make extends far beyond the classroom.
As we gather in the coming days to celebrate Thanksgiving, let us also remember the strength that comes from working together as a community. Every communication, every meeting, project and act of kindness is an intricate thread that weaves the fabric of who we are. I am proud to be part of the mission that is Walsh College and am very grateful for each and every one of you.
Wishing you all a peaceful and joyous holiday,
Suzy Siegle
