Walsh College Retains Gold-Level Military-Friendly® School Status for 2023-2024
TROY, MI – Walsh College has been named a 2023-2024 Gold-level Military-Friendly® School by VIQTORY, a Pittsburgh-based, veteran-owned organization dedicated to connecting the military community to civilian opportunity. Schools were assessed based on their ability to meet the threshold for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence and loan default rates for all students and specifically veteran students.
“Walsh College is so proud to be a top Military-Friendly School for the 14th consecutive year,” said Suzy Siegle, President & Chief Champion of Walsh College. “This designation reflects our continued commitment to serve those who serve and have served our country, and to offer them an exceptional education experience.”
Walsh College is committed to helping veterans transition from military service to a college degree to a successful career. The college waives the application fee for veterans and offers personalized assistance to help with education benefits. Walsh has licensed professional counselors on staff to assist during the transition process as well as a student organization for veterans that is sponsored by veteran faculty.
“The GI Bill is one of the biggest benefits a veteran can receive after getting out, but so many choose not to utilize it,” said Laurence Ebert, a current Master of Science in Management student who served in the military. “Veterans need to know that it is never too late to go back to school. It is just like the military, it challenges you, but it sets you up for success.”
While at Walsh College, veterans have access to veteran-specific scholarships, extended payment due dates for GI Bill® users and personalized help with education benefits. Walsh’s Troy location also has a dedicated space for veterans.
Walsh College was also awarded Gold-level status as a Veteran-Friendly School by the Michigan Veteran Affairs Agency in October 2022.
